How do Sydney prices compare with Melbourne?
On the two lists we checked, Sydney came out cheaper for the same areas: full legs at $195↗ against $220↗ in Melbourne, and underarms at $25↗ against $40↗. Two clinic groups cannot settle which city is cheaper, and the Melbourne clinic runs package sales that change the comparison again.
What does this list leave out?
Two areas that the Melbourne list prices do not appear on the Sydney one: upper lip, which Melbourne lists at $40↗, and full body, at $600↗. If you want a small facial area treated, ask for that price in writing before your first appointment. There is no published Sydney figure here to hold the clinic to.
What should you ask a Sydney clinic?
- Is the quoted price per session, and does it change after the first visit?
- Is the device a laser or an IPL? The two are regulated differently.
- Who will operate it, what training have they had, and who supervises them?
- How many sessions do you expect for my hair and skin, and what happens if I need more than that?
Does New South Wales license cosmetic lasers?
ARPANSA lists the states that regulate cosmetic laser use as Tasmania, Queensland and Western Australia↗. New South Wales is not one of them, so there is no state laser licence for a Sydney clinic to show you. Ask who will operate the device, what training they have had, and who supervises them.
