Victorian Laser & Skin Clinic publishes one price list for all five locations, from Collins Street to Croydon, so the CBD clinic and the outer-east one charge the same list price.

What does each area cost in Melbourne?

The same list covers the Collins Street clinic in the CBD and the one in Croydon, so postcode does not change the list price here. What changes it is the sale that happens to be running.

How much does a prepaid 10-pack save?

During the clinic's 50% off packages sale, a full legs 10-pack came to $1,100, which is $110 a session a session against $220 one at a time. Underarms came to $180, or $18 a session a session. Sale prices end. When this one does, the single-session prices above are the ones to compare.

Is a 10-pack more than you need?

Possibly. DermNet says laser hair removal needs 3 to 6 sessions or more. Six single sessions of full legs cost $1,320 at list price, and six of underarms $240. If you would stop at six, put that number next to the pack total before you decide, and ask what happens to sessions you do not use. Our guide to prepaid packages and your rights covers the consumer law side.

What should you check before you prepay?

  • Whether the per-session figure you were given is the sale price or the standard one. Ours was captured during a 50% off packages sale.
  • When the sessions expire, and whether that date appears on the receipt rather than only in conversation.
  • Which area the pack covers, since this list prices lower legs and full legs separately.
  • What happens to sessions you do not use. Your rights under consumer law are the floor, not the clinic's policy.

Does Victoria license cosmetic lasers?

No. ARPANSA lists cosmetic laser regulation in Tasmania, Queensland and Western Australia, and Victoria is not among them. A Melbourne clinic has no state laser licence to show you, so ask about operator training instead.

Where are the clinics?

The list covers the group's clinics on Collins Street in the CBD, and in Hawthorn, Mount Waverley, Viewbank and Croydon. If you are choosing between them, choose on travel time, because the price will be the same.
